About
Artist Statement
My work explores how individuality exists within systems of repetition. I write algorithms that contain infinite possibilities, then pull single pieces into the physical world through machines.
Each piece emerges from code but carries the marks of its making: the grain of the ink, the burn of the laser the wobble of the pen. The hand of the machine present in the final piece.
This friction between digital precision and physical reality is the central question of my practice. What gets lost or added in translation? And what happens when machines built for repetitive reproduction are used to make one-of-a-kind works?
